Does anyone have any experience with them? I have a hair-brained scheme and they seem to be my cheapest option, but that concerns me...
I want to do a 1 day, 1 way car rental from Louis Armstrong - New Orleans International Airport to Atlanta International Airport. Every rental company (Budget, Hertz, Avis) wants $110-140 for this trip since I’m not bringing the car back to the original location. National wants $40. When I see a price disparity like this I tend to get a little concerned. Thoughts?

What could possibly go wrong?

I’m worried I’m going to show up and either have no car, or get a tricycle (pink, with tassles on the handle bars), or get “LOLJKSUCKER, its going to be $200”

It’s a major rental agency; the experience is the same as every other major rental agency.
They have a surplus of cars in New Orleans and a deficit of cars in Atlanta; that is all.

I’m pretty sure riding a tricycle from New Orleans to Atlanta would make you a legend.

National is fine. Personal experience (at SFO) they are more anal about small scratches, doing walk arounds, etc than Hertz or Avis, but I’ve never had any issues and I’ve rented from them probably 10-15 times.
Do the emerald club thing even for just a single rental (this is true for all the frequent renter things at the major companies)...saves time.

Thanks. I mean it makes sense, it just struck me as odd that they were so much cheaper than all of their competitors. The only times I’ve ever rented cars were through insurance following accidents, etc., and my insurer always uses Enterprise. Call me cynical, I guess, just wanted to make sure there were no surprises.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely look into the Emerald Club.

The reason I’m doing this is to go by the CMP custom shop in Anniston, Alabama to look for a new match rifle.
Riding a pink tricycle into Atlanta with an M1 rifle slung across my back. Now that would be legendary...

Enterprise owns National, btw.
And so long this $40 fee is on the rental contract they must honor it. As For Sweeden suggests, the lower fee is probably because they have a surplus of cars at one airport.

Hmm, I did not know that. Thank you for the info, though. I appreciate it.

I would call national and confirm that $40... which sounds too good to be true for a 1 way rental.
